Agudelo Ready to Begin the Road to the London Olympics Tonight in Nashville
After a couple of weeks training together, the United States U-23 team is ready to start its bid to qualify for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London tonight against CONCACAF foe Cuba. New York Red Bulls forward Juan Agudelo may play a large role determining whether the U.S. is one of the two countries that qualifies from the region that includes North and Central America as well as the Caribbean. After a good showing in a 2-0 win against Mexico's U-23 team in an exhibition on February 29th, the U.S. will hope to coast through their first three matches and keep their key players as rested and healthy as possible going into the knockout round next weekend. The match can be streamed live online tonight at 9 PM at UniversalSports.com. Team captain, Freddy Adu, tweeted earlier today: "Game day! Connect with you guys after the game." Shortly after, Agudelo tweeted about Brek Shea's toothbrush and posted a link for a looped video of a goal celebration with Joe Gyau. U.S. fans will hope that the budding soccer bromances will carry over onto the field tonight and result in a momentum building blow out of the Cuban team.
