The United States Men's National Team continues preparations for the Copa America Centenario as it takes on Ecuador in Frisco, Texas.
Ecuador, like the U.S. will feature in this summer's Copa America, however Ecuador is in Group B and the U.S. is in Group A. The two sides could potentially meet in the quarterfinals of the competition, as the winner of Group A will play the runner-up in Group B and the winner of Group B will face the runner-up in Group A.
Historically, the USMNT has struggled against Ecuador with an all-time record of 2-5-5. This match figures to be a tough one and likely will be very physical.
Geoff Cameron, who apparently arrived in camp is a small niggle, is the only U.S. player to be officially ruled out. Timothy Chandler played 69 minutes for Eintracht Frankfurt on Monday and there have been conflicting reports about whether Chandler was injured during the match. Apparently he texted the coaching staff prior to arriving to say that he will be ready, though the truth of that statement remains to be seen.
Ecuador left-back and captain Walter Avoyi will miss the match as his club side Monterrey face Pachuca, in the first leg of the Liga MX final, on Thursday.
Jurgen Klinsmann stands to learn a lot about his squad from what should be an exciting match.
