Bradley Wright-Phillips came into today's match against the Chicago Fire at 62 goals in all competitions, tied with Juan Pablo Angel for the team record of goals scored in all competitions. His equalizer near the end of the match now puts him ahead of the team legend with 63 goals.
What makes the record slightly more impressive is that BWP managed to break the record in 8872 minutes played (in 111 appearances). Angel set the record while playing in a total of 9648 minutes (in 112 appearances).
Wright-Phillips most likely won't be done breaking goal scoring records this year. Angel also holds the team record for goals scored in MLS Regular Season at 58. Wright-Phillips' goal today puts him at 57 goals. The odds of him getting 2 goals in the next 11 games is pretty near even that we'll be looking at BWP owning the record by the end of August or September at the latest.
