The New York Red Bulls will see out the season without the services of Gideon Baah and Connor Lade, but the other two players on the first team's injury list are reported to be ahead of schedule with their respective recoveries.
Big Apple Soccer's Kristian Dyer reports both Dax McCarty and Damien Perrinelle are close enough to recovered that either or both might be on the bench for this weekend's league game against New England Revolution.
Whether they make the 18 on Sunday or not, the fact Jesse Marsch is able to even contemplate having either in his squad is extremely encouraging. Neither player was expected to be ready to return to the team until mid-September; it is very good news that they are at least being considered for playing time before the end of August.
Even better news: NYRB II's Konrad Plewa has been cleared to return to training after suffering a stroke at the end of July. Kristian Dyer's piece on the subject for Metro is well worth a read.
