Can you believe we went six whole posts only mentioning Tim Cahill in a cursory manner? Me neither! But there comes a time when all streaks must come to an end and it comes with Cahill's first presser as a Red Bull at 1 p.m. You can watch it using the link above.
We didn’t show up the first five minutes of the second half. You concede two goals on the road and you lose the game. Overall, it’s three terrible mistakes. You can’t concede goals like this. You lose games and it’s very disappointing.
Hans Backe on Saturday's 3-1 loss in MontrealThierry Henry's assist to Chris Wondolowski in the MLS All-Star's first goal against Chelsea. The All-Stars would go on to win 3-2.
In case you haven't heard, former Philadelphia Union coach Pitor Nowak sued the team for wrongful termination and unpaid severance money. Jonathan Tannenwald at Philly.com did some crack reporting and came up with the letter outlining why Nowak was fired. It's excerpted in the linked post at Business Insider. NYT article on Henry - obviously not too challenging but an interesting look at his life in NYC, and some insight into his view of his tenure in MLS several years ago Henry was in a commercial for some kind of razor - alongside Eldrick Woods and Roger Federer. I saw the spot a few times and then noticed that they replaced Henry with Derek Jeter. It's interesting to contrast the two, occupying the same city, one relatively anonymous, the other instantly recognizable.
