Thierry Henry: All but in uniform

Barcelona director general Joan Oliver has confirmed that Thierry Henry will be allowed to leave the club.

Henry has struggled to impress at the Nou Camp since moving from Arsenal in 2007 and found himself reduced to a bit-part role under Pep Guardiola last season, with Pedro and Bojan Krkic regularly preferred.

Speculation was rife towards the end of last season that Henry was considering a move to MLS, with New York Red Bulls widely reported to be favourites to sign him.

Guardiola does not see Henry in his plans for next season and Barcelona have already signed prolific Spain striker David Villa, a move that appeared to all but seal Henry's exit.

This has long been the most poorly guarded rumor in sports. Anyone who has internet access knew Thierry Henry was joining the team after the World Cup. He will bring another threat to join either Juan Pablo Angel as a Striker or in our incredibly deep Midfield. However, with rumors of a second signing for a legitimate number 10, I would suspect TH14 joins JPA on the attack. Where this leaves the Ibrahim and Kandji (when he returns) is yet to be seen.

Big news though for New York Red Bulls fans.
