Summer 2010: The summer of two DPs?

So at this point we all know the Henry rumors and how his signing is all but announced. There are other players rumored though and wanted to get your thoughts on how realistic they are.

Del Piero: He's long been rumored but talks have since cooled. His play during the Juventus friendly was sub-par. You don't expect players to play 100% for fear of injury, but for a once great player, he didn't seem to want to be on the pitch at all.

Clebao: He actually had a shot to play with the team during the Juventus friendly. He's a very big, physical defender and right now that's something the team needs. He's not particularly fast and isn't really great when passing the ball but he's really good in the air and plays an aggressive game, so he fits into the Red Bulls system pretty well. The fact that our defense is still the weak spot for the team, he may be a decent pick up. I'm just not sure if you want to use a DP on him.

Jozy Altidore: Jozy has actually stated he wants to play in the arena and would love to return to Red Bull New York. My gut says he doesn't return this summer but he's been lost in Hull City since being loaned out. He's a Jersey kid and grew up watching the Metrostars/Red Bulls. Him and Henry as starting Strikers is absolutely beastly and I'd pity the fool (A-Team movie is coming out friday) who thinks they can stop that 1-2.

Ze Roberto: The rumor is that he received a 3 year $15 million contract offer. He improves the midfield but unfortunately, he's 35. So by the end of his contract he's 38? That's a lot of money to spend on a player who at this point is on the downswing of his career. And his play has dropped noticeably in recent years. But on the other hand, he's still incredibly talented and improves our midfield. He'll also draw in the much sought after Brazilian crowd.

Juan Pablo Angel is thinking about leaving the team after this summer so we need to have a future star to sell for the next couple of seasons.
