Red Bulls Go Into Halftime Up 1-0

When'd this guy get so good?
When'd this guy get so good?

In a Nostradamus type prediction, our friends at RSL Soapbox predicted that if the Red Bulls could keep the game scoreless through the first 20, they would have a legitimate chance at winning. In that time period, the Galaxy were constantly threatening with the ball spending the majority of that time in the Galaxy possession. Bouna Coundoul came up with big with some saves and our defensive pairing of Tim Ream and Carlos Mendes stood firm.

The Red Bulls began to threaten with Dane Richards using his speed to push the ball forward but unfortunately the rest of the Red Bull squad wasn't around. David Beckham forgot that the MLS is an extremely physical league and was looking for fouls constantly, with zero luck. It was around this time he had to figure out he is no longer the MLS golden goose, a role that has been transitioned to Thierry Henry, and he would no longer get the golden child calls.

At the 36 minute, Joel Lindpere put a shot off the post that rebounded directly to Dane Richards who put in the easy goal. Carey Talley went down at the 38th minute and Mike Petke subbed in. The Red Bulls go into the half up 1-0.
