Tim Ream, Juan Agudelo, Rafael Marquez, Roy Miller, Dane Richards, and Bouna Coundoul were all called up by their respective countries for international duty during October's friendlies between Oct. 7 and 11.
Ream and Agudelo will play Honduras Oct. 8 in Miami before an Oct. 11 showdown with Ecuador on their home pitch.
Marquez and the rest of the Mexican national team will play host to Brazil Oct. 11.
Miller's Costa Rican side will play Brazil Oct. 7 in Costa Rica.
Richards' Jamacian side will travel to Honduras for a match Oct. 11.
Coundoul and the rest of the Senegalese national team can clinch the top spot in their 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying group with a win over Mauritius Oct. 9.
At first blush, this seems like it should be another nail in the coffin that is the Red Bulls' 2011 season - what with that whole playoff race thing - but after the Red Bulls' rescheduled Oct. 4 match against LA, they don't play again until an Oct. 15 trip to the Kansas side of Kansas City for a match against Sporting Kansas City.
As far as personnel goes, the team should have most of those players available for the LA match. Rest for some of the players might be in order when the match against Sporting comes around, but that's a bridge Backe will have to cross when he comes to it.
