New York Red Bulls vs. Los Angeles Galaxy: Live Match Thread

This is a football match. That is all.
This is a football match. That is all.

Today is most certainly the day -- the day when the New York Red Bulls ensure that they will miss the playoffs in hilariously tragic fashion by falling to a pathetic defeat at the hands of a half-strength Los Angeles Galaxy side at Red Bull Arena.

Hans Backe has named an identical starting lineup to the team that drew away to Toronto on Saturday, with Rafa Marquez somehow retaining his place in midfield. Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane miss out for LA due to injury and international duty, respectively.

Lineups

New York: Frank Rost, Jan Gunnar Solli, Stephen Keel, Tim Ream, Roy Miller, Dane Richards, Rafael Marquez GO AWAY, Teemu Tainio, Joel Lindpere, Luke Rodgers, Thierry Henry aka Jesus Christ himself

Subs: Alex Horwath, Carlos Mendes, Stephane Auvray, Mehdi Ballouchy, Dax McCarty, Juan Agudelo

Galaxy: Ricketts; Frankie Hejduk, A.J. DeLaGarza, Omar Gonzalez, Todd Dunivant; Michael Stephens, Juninho, David Beckham, Paolo Cardozo; Chad Barrett, Miguel Lopez
