The New York Red Bulls return home this evening to take on FC Dallas at Red Bull Arena. After four games without a win, one point from nine in the league and coming off the back of a 4-1 hammering against Colorado, New York will attempt to begin saving something from this season against one of the top teams in the league.
As we've reported and discussed, the South Ward will be silent for the first half to protest against the club's treatment of the US Open Cup. However, Teemu Tainio and Rafael Márquez both have a chance (albeit a small one) to return to a New York lineup that needs to re-discover its defensive ability after being trounced in midweek. The Red Bulls attack will also have to improve after scoring just once in the last 270 minutes of league play.
I am confident that one of our brilliant commenters will post this evening's lineups, as all of us writers will be out at the Cathdral (or Library) of Football.
You can find Dallas perspective at Big D Soccer, and be sure to check out our three questions with them before the game.
Kickoff is at 6 PM, and if you're not headed out to Red Bull Arena you can watch the game on MSG and Galavisión. I'll be honest: If we don't lose by two or three goals I will be very surprised. And I'm usually an optimist. Forza.
