Henry Suspended: No Harm, No Foul

This afternoon, the league announced Thierry Henry was suspended and fined an undisclosed amount for "violent conduct which endangered the safety of Sporting Kansas City forward Kei Kamara in the final seconds of Wednesday's game at Red Bull Arena."

By "violent conduct" they mean the play above, where Henry runs into the box and into Kamara before a set piece late in the second half.

It's not as if Henry was going to play this weekend against the New England Revolution, anyway. Henry generally skips games on turf and Hans Backe said as much today...

"That's one of the really hard ones to play on," said Backe. "I think the only one that's decent turf is Portland's turf."

So, really, this won't quite harm the team's chances this weekend. The issue, comes in the season home finale against Sporting Kansas City in October. Brian Lewis at the New York Post has already reported that the third of three KC-NY match-ups could get chippier and it certainly seems Tim Cahill, one of the newest Red Bulls, isn't quite fond of the Sporks.
