With the 22nd Pick in the MLS SuperDraft...

...the Red Bulls select Providence College midfielder Marc Cintron.

We -- by we I mean the writers at your various SBNation MLS blogs -- held a MLS mock draft this weekend. We went the full two rounds, which let us in on the festivities as the Red Bulls' sole draft pick is a second round one, the 22nd pick overall.

The pick I ended up making was Providence College's Marc Cintron.

Cintron's a local boy, from Piscataway, N.J. who attended Newark's St. Benedict's Prep, and a midfielder, which the Red Bulls are in dire need of. Plus, he's a Puerto Rican international who's already earned a cap with the national team. And he scored against Spain. Did I mention he scored against Spain? Because you can't mention Marc Cintron without mentioning he scored against Spain...

Some of the other picks that have been connected to the Red Bulls in various mock drafts, Eric Hurtado of Santa Clara, Donnie Smith of UNC Charlotte and Blake Smith of New Mexico, were all taken at 16, 19 and 20. They were all, honestly, ahead of Cintron on my draft board, but if the above highlights show anything, if Cintron falls to the Red Bulls, they'll be in pretty good shape. He's big, he's fast and he's shown the ability to step up in big games.
