Sousa Out? Or Just Waiting on a Visa?

Paulo Sousa could be out as Red Bulls head coach. Or he could be waiting on his visa. Either way, the Red Bulls still don't have a head coach.

Two new, completely opposed, bits of news on the Red Bulls' coaching search.

Yesterday, Steve Davis of NBC Sports' Pro Soccer Talk said Paulo Sousa -- the man who surfaced post-Gary McAllister -- was "THE guy" pending visa paperwork.

Then, this afternoon, Portuguese newspaper O Jogo reported Sousa wasn't coming to the Red Bulls for one reason or another. The translation is rough. Really, really rough. But it seems they didn't see eye-to-eye on...well...something.

So it's back to the drawing board, which seems to jive with what Andy Roxburgh told the press corps yesterday.

If anyone wants to feel better about this whole situation, well...at least whoever the Red Bulls tap as head coach is only missing fitness sessions. The guys are just getting into camp and need to get back into shape and that's likely what they'll be working on the camp's outset. It's not for a little while will the team get into the nitty-gritty of tactics.

Which A) Isn't much in the way of a silver lining and B) Still...eesh.
