Head Coach Mike Petke went on his conference call with the media Monday afternoon and it seems like the Red Bulls have hired some writers for him.
"I think I have done well. I am very happy about the wins that we've had. But I credit the players for the most part because they are the ones out there who are winning and I am the one on the sideline freaking out. I think we've done some very good moments this year, but the moments that are going to define us are ahead of us, starting with this Saturday."
"The moments that are going to define us are ahead of us, starting with this Saturday."
Yeah, sounds like something out of a movie.
As we've remarked before, the next game is the most important game of the year for the Red Bulls. While the draw in Seattle was nice, there's little time to pat yourself on the back. Winning Saturday against the New England Revolution will be bigger for the team. Three points will help build a Supporters' Shield lead -- one sorely needed with the Sounders' games in hand -- and get them in the playoffs.
