Report: RSL Kicking Tires on Fraser

Real Salt Lake is out a coach, and Robin Fraser used to be an assistant there, so it fits.

Like we speculated when NYCFC named Jason Kreis their head coach (also, look at that GIF), Real Salt Lake is kicking the tires on Red Bulls' assistant coach Robin Fraser for their vacant head coaching gig.

Fraser was the assistant coach at RSL under Kreis from 2007 until 2010, when he left to take the head coaching job at Chivas USA. There, he performed about as well as you'd expect someone in charge of Chivas USA to perform. He was let go after the 2012 season, then joined Mike Petke's staff.

That doesn't mean Fraser is gone, Dave Martinez at Empire of Soccer reports current RSL assistant Jeff Cassar is the frontrunner, meaning the defending Western Conference champions are putting a premium on stability heading into 2014. Fraser, while familiar with the organization, left almost four years ago.
