Cahill Makes 2013 MLS Best XI

The Red Bulls, despite winning the Supporters' Shield, didn't get many post-season accolades, save Tim Cahill.

USA TODAY Sports

The Red Bulls might have won the 2013 Supporters' Shield, but there's not a lot in the way of individual accolades for the team.

Yeah, Mike Petke was a finalist for Coach of the Year and came in second, but there wasn't another Red Bull finalist in any category.

The voters, it seemed, were infatuated with the Portland Timbers. The Timbers, who drew their way to precisely zero trophies, evidently had the Coach of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, the Newcomer of the Year frontrunner and an MLS Best XI member in their employ.

But, hey, at least Tim Cahill is getting his due.

Cahill, who scored clutch goal after clutch goal, was one of four midfielders selected to the league's 2013 Best XI.

The rest: Donovan Ricketts, Jose Goncalves, Matt Besler, Omar Gonzales, Will Johnson, Diego Valeri, Graham Zusi, Marco Di Vaio, Robbie Keane, Mike Magee.
