MLS released some (not all) of the games in the 2015 season, specifically the home openers. For the fourth straight year, the New York Red Bulls will start the season on the road. They will be on national TV though as they take on Sporting Kansas City at Sporting Park in a rematch of the knockout game from the 2014 playoffs. That game is Sunday, March 8th at 7 pm on FOX Sports 1.
The Red Bulls first home game is during Week 3 of the MLS season. They will take on D.C. United on Sunday March 22nd. No date or time has been announced for that game. This indicates that the Red Bulls' 2nd game of the season will also be on the road, although we don't know who that opponent is yet, as it seems like they will have already played at home in Week 1.
The Red Bulls are at least not the last team to play their first home game. That honor goes to Toronto FC who will spend 9 weeks on the road before taking on the Houston Dynamo in Week 10. This is due to renovations going on at BMO Field.
What do you think of the Red Bulls starting the season on the road yet again? Let us know in the comments.
UPDATE: It appears that while the press release set the home opener for the Red Bulls as the 22nd, the schedule page for MLS has the 21st (see tweet below), so the actual home opener date is unclear.
