Tim Cahill is on safari.

Tim Cahill is also still a New York Red Bulls player, and shall remain so until such time as circumstances intervene to change that fact. He didn't have a great 2014 for RBNY, but he did have a pretty good year for his national team. He scored a very good goal at the World Cup.

He became Australia's all-time top scorer in international soccer this year, and he still has at least one big tournament in his future to push the record out a little further.

All of this is why he has been named the Football Media Association (Australia) Men's International Player of the Year for 2013-14.

It is the second time Cahill has won this award - the first was 2009-10. He was not a Red Bull back then, but he is now (5:00 pm on Tuesday, December 9; this feels like a precariously fluid situation).

Congratulations, Tim! Enjoy the vacation! If you know what your future holds, please do give some thought to letting the rest of us in on those plans.
