Sky Blue FC Announces 2014 Schedule

Club returns to Yurcak Field for upcoming season.

MORRISTOWN, NJ (Friday, Feb. 7, 2014) - Sky Blue FC announced its 2014 regular season schedule today in conjunction with the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). SBFC will be on the road for opening weekend against FC Kansas City and will return home on Saturday, April 19th to host the 2013 NWSL Champions - Portland Thorns FC - for the thrilling New Jersey opener.

"Having our home opener against the defending NWSL Champions is a great way to start off our season," Sky Blue FC technical director and head coach Jim Gabarra said. "Both teams at some point were at the top of the standings for the majority of last year so I'm sure everyone will be treated to a great match."

Sky Blue FC will once again call Yurcak Field "home" this season as the club returns to the Rutgers University facility in Piscataway, NJ.

"We're excited to announce that we will be returning to a great facility that the players and fans are familiar with," Sky Blue FC president and general manager Tony Novo said. "We're happy to be able to continue playing on one of the only grass surfaces in the league."

The 24-game NWSL regular season schedule runs from April 12 - August 17. SBFC's final home game of the season will be on July 31 before ending the season on a three-game road trip.

Sky Blue FC is also proud to announce that tickets can be purchased online through starting Monday, February 10. Ticket purchasing is now more convenient with its new online platform including better viewing of seat availability, the option to print tickets from home, forward tickets to friends, connect with social media, and much more.

"Our fans have spoken, and Sky Blue FC has now delivered," Sky Blue FC director of sales Jim Gooley said. "Our fans have asked for an easier way to purchase Sky Blue FC tickets, and this is it. You can walk past the will call window and have your ticket scanned at the gate and you're in with a beep. Nothing is more convenient."
