Predictions: NY vs Chivas 2014-03-30

Can the Red Bulls move out of first gear and end the slow start? Will the Red Bulls beat Chivas USA in the LA club's last year with the Goat name hanging around its neck?

Every game during the 2014 New York Red Bulls season will be predicted by Jason Iapicco, Matt Coyne, Tim Dean, Austin Fido, and Red Bull Rant co-hosts Patrick MacDonald, and Truman. We'll be tracking how well we do, awarding points for each prediction. For each game, 1 point will be awarded for correctly predicting a Win, Loss, or Draw; and 2 points for a correct score prediction. Let's take a look at predictions for the upcoming game.

Date: March 30, 2014

Opponent: Chivas USA

Stadium: Red Bull Arena

TV: MSG, UniMas

Kick Off: 3:00 pm Eastern

Matt Coyne: 2-1 Win

The Red Bulls finally get three points, but it's not exactly the prettiest game in the world. It's a game the Red Bulls should win by more, but they won't. We'll all go home happy they took the three points, but not thrilled with the manner in which they did it.

Tim Dean: 1-1 Draw

Chivas are not the same pushovers of last season. The Red Bulls, on the other hand, are not the same scoring powerhouse they were either. Hold on to your hats, folks, we're in for a long and boring ride.

Side prediction: I continue to be terrible at predictions.

Austin Fido: 3-1 Win

My predictions are off to an even slower start than the Red Bulls. Time for both of us to put that right.
