Cahill out versus Dynamo

Despite making an appearance in the Red Bulls' first win of the season over the Union, Cahill is out against the Dynamo.

It doesn't look like Tim Cahill will be in the starting Xi, or even on the bench, when the Red Bulls welcome the Dynamo to Red Bull Arena tomorrow night.

Despite playing 27 minutes in the Red Bulls' victory over the Philadelphia Union last week, the midfielder has apparently suffered a setback and won't be available.

Normally, Cahill is the type of player you can breathe easy about when he picks up an injury, but not this time. He had to come off early in the Red Bulls' March 30 match against Chivas USA. He sat out against the Montreal Impact, but Head Coach Mike Petke thought he'd be back after just a week to play against D.C. United, but that  wasn't the case.

And even after getting cleared to play against the Union, he might have rushed things, if this latest setback is any indication.

The good news here is that, according to the SoccerByIves story put together by Franco Panizo, Petke does expect him back for the weekend against the (much improved) Columbus Crew.
