The Red Bulls won't make their way into the Open Cup for another month in the tournament's fourth round, but that doesn't mean the team wasn't involved in yesterday's first round match-ups.
The Red Bulls' U-23 side downed the Vermont Voltage 2-1 to advance to take on the USL's Pittsburgh Riverounds in the second round next week. They'll travel to the Steel City next Wednesday and play at 7 p.m.
The U-23s used goals from Scott Thomsen and Kendan Anderson to advance.
