Arun Basuljevic was named the SoccerAmerica Men’s Freshman Player of the Year on Tuesday, adding to an already impressive set of accolades. Previously, the Red Bulls Academy graduate was named BIG EAST Rookie of the Year and was placed on the Top Drawer Soccer Freshman Best XI. During his youth career, Basuljevic led the Red Bulls to a U-18 and a U-16 Development Academy National Championship and was a NSCAA Youth Soccer All American.

The young striker scored 6 goals, which was good enough for second on the team behind fellow Academy graduate Brandon Allen. The Hoyas finished with a 14-4-5 record and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament before bowing out to eventual champion Virginia. Georgetown featured four Academy graduates: Basuljevic, Allen, sophomore striker Alex Muyl, and freshman midfielder Christopher Lema. All four received All-BIG EAST honors.

Basuljevic, along with Lema, participated in pre-season training camp with the senior team in 2014. Both made a strong impression on the coaching staff and are considered to be future Homegrown signings.

Below are highlight videos containing three of his goals.
