RBNY bolster midfield, defense in MLS SuperDraft Rounds 3 & 4

In a quick final two rounds of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft, the Red Bulls focused on the midfield and defense.

Sean McLaws is a defender/midfielder out of Coastal Carolina, who finished 2014 with an overall record (W-L-D) of 16-6-1. His team made the NCAA tournament by lost a 2-1 contest to Clemson in the second round. Coastal Carolina's website doesn't have any of his 2014 accolades, but McLaws was named to the 2013 First Team All-Big South, 2013 Big South Tournament Team, 2013 Big South Defensive Player of the Year, and 2013 NSCAA Second Team All-South Atlantic Region. Top Drawer Soccer has him ranked as the best player in the Big South and the 58th best college player nationally.

Manolo Sanchez is a midfielder from Clemson, who advanced to the third round of the NCAA tournament, but were defeated by North Carolina 2-1. Clemson had an overall record of 12-7-3 in the ACC. He is not ranked in the top 20 of the ACC or the 100 in the country by Top Drawer Soccer. He only started 5 games in 22 appearances in 2014 but did contribute with 3 goals and 6 assists in the 1486 minutes played.
