New York Red Bulls' 2015 preseason schedule - for real this time

The club has officially released its preseason schedule for 2015...

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

With three days to spare before the team flies south for preseason, the New York Red Bulls have finally got around to officially (we've had good information from other sources up to now) announcing a preseason schedule that is a little more detailed than "We're going to Florida. Twice."

As of January 23, with the usual caveat that the schedule is subject to change, RBNY is now suggesting it will chart the following path to form and fitness by opening day of its 2015 MLS regular season (March 8):

January 26 - team departs for Orlando

February 1 - closed door scrimmage against University of South Florida (USF)

February 5 - closed door scrimmage against Jacksonville Armada FC

February 6 - head home

February 16 - team departs for Bradenton

February 18 - vs. HB Koge (IMG tournament)

February 21 - vs. Oklahoma City Energy FC (IMG tournament)

February 25 - vs. Toronto FC (IMG tournament)

February 28 - IMG tournament final/consolation games

March 1 - head home

That makes for a total of six scheduled friendlies, which is in keeping with the routine of recent years.

The club says further details will follow (including, one imagines, whether any matches will be streamed online, as has been arranged in seasons past). IMG's official tournament details are here.
