The following is a tweet.
Hearing that Qatar Sports Investments are seriously kicking the tires on the Red Bulls. #RBNY.
— Raf Noboa y Rivera (@noboa) January 25, 2015
The preceding tweet further confirms reports by Empire of Soccer's Dave Martinez that the owner of Ligue 1 club PSG is (or was) interested in purchasing the club. Whether or not this tweet represents increased or renewed interest is unknown.
However, it must be noted that Red Bull and Major League Soccer have repeatedly insisted that there will not be a change in ownership despite the chaotic off-season and decreased financial investment in the club.
Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) is operated by the government of Qatar with the intent of strengthening the country's economy and diversifying its revenue streams (finance words!). QSI purchased Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain in 2012 and has invested heavily in the club.
