Despite exploring options before the season, NYRB II's name will remain as is for the foreseeable future.
NYRB II General Manager Shaun Oliver said to Once a Metro that there have been no discussions after the season to change the club's identity.
Before beginning play the New York Red Bulls reached out to the Empire Supporters Club to discuss naming the USL side Empire SC. The two sides could not come to an agreement, so the name NYRB II was adopted.
"We reached out to our Empire Supporters Club in regards to the name and at the time the temperature for using that name was not right," Oliver said to Once a Metro.
"I would never rule out a name change but we are currently not having any discussions on changing from NYRB II."
NYRB II had a successful inaugural season making the second round of the playoffs out of the Eastern Conference.
