Fans travelling to MAPFRE Stadium on Sunday will want to make sure they arrive earlier than normal. Columbus Crew SC is increasing security at the stadium for the matchup against the New York Red Bulls. This comes in the wake of multiple attacks in Paris on the night of November 13th, including an attempt on the France-Germany international friendly.
We value the safety and security of our patrons for all events hosted at MAPFRE Stadium. We will continue to collaborate with law enforcement and Major League Soccer on security protocols for our events. Out of an abundance of caution following last weekend's tragic events in Paris, in addition to our standard safety measures, there will be an increased security presence at the venue on Sunday, including the usage of metal detector screening at the gates.
The Crew and Red Bulls are set to play in the first leg of the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday, November 22nd at 5:00 pm.
