The New York Red Bulls are reporting a relatively clean bill of health: no calamities befell those who represented their countries during last week's international break (including freshly-minted US Men's National Team player Matt Miazga); Shaun Wright-Phillips is said to be edging back to full fitness after limping out of the Red Bulls' last playoff game with a hamstring injury.
As such, long-term injuries to Chris Duvall and Damien Perrinelle notwithstanding, this is about as full and fit a squad as Jesse Marsch has had to choose from since the playoffs began. And that leads naturally to the expectation that the RBNY head coach will stick with the lineup that has got him this far.
Marsch has depth options at almost every position, but the time for experimentation has passed. There are a maximum of three games left in this season, and the immediate priority is simply to get out of this match with hope still alive for the home leg of this Conference final. For the task at hand, one suspects the head coach will stick by the players he has been selecting since the the start of this playoff campaign, and whom he hopes will be the ones to deliver the finish the team and fan base wishes to see.
