The Red Bulls announced in a brief statement that Eric Stevenson has been waived.

"We thank Eric for his service to the club," said Red Bulls Sporting Director Ali Curtis. "We wish him all the best moving forward."

Stevenson was drafted in the second round of the 2014 SuperDraft out of the University of Akron. At Akron, he won the College Cup in 2010. He made one league appearance and played in three CONCACAF Champions League matches.

According to data provided by the MLS Players Union, Stevenson earned $36,504 in 2014. It is possible that he will sign for the club's new reserve team in USL.

The club now has one fewer option in an already sparse platoon of wingers.

Do you think Stevenson will sign for NYRB II? Does the club need to sign another winger?
