Kyle Duncan was called into the U-18 team which is playing in the Copa Chivas Internacional. Duncan, a defender, is committed to Monmouth University and is rated as a 4 star recruit by Top Drawer Soccer.
The United States U-18 team is fourth in their group after beating Monarcas Morelia, 1-0, and losing to Cruzeiro, 1-0. They play Club Tijuana on February 2nd and Club Deportivo Universidad Catolica on February 3rd. Duncan started and played 90 minutes against Morelia, but did not appear in the Universidad match.
Tyler Adams and Matthew Olosunde were invited back to the U.S. U-17 Residency Program in Bradenton, Florida. Both Adams and Olosunde are returning to the program after the fall semester and are training for the CONCACAF U-17 Championship, which begins February 27th in Honduras.
Adams, a defender from Wappingers Falls, N.Y., is rated a 5 star recruit by Top Drawer Soccer. Olosunde, from Trenton, is a four star recruit and can play any position on the right side of the field.
The United States has been drawn into Group A for the CONCACAF U-17 Championship with Honduras, Guatemala, Trinidad and Tobago, Cuba, and Jamaica. They play Cuba on February 27th in San Pedro Sula. Similar to the CONCACAF U-20 Championship, the group winners automatically advanced to the U-17 World Cup. The second and third place teams from each group will be reseeded and play a one game playoff with the two winners advancing to the World Cup.
