The Red Bulls announced Tim Cahill is leaving the club by mutual agreement.
Cahill joined the club in 2012 as a Designated Player. He was named to the MLS Best XI in 2013 after leading the Red Bulls with 11 goals, and is credited with being a major factor in the team winning the Supporters' Shield.
The Red Bulls will not be receiving a transfer fee for Cahill despite his supposedly long list of suitors.
Rather confounding how #RBNY couldn’t get a transfer fee for Cahill *or* for Marquez, but whatever.

Feel free to over-analyze this quote by Sporting Director Ali Curtis.
"We are pleased that Tim Cahill will continue to be an ambassador for Red Bull moving forward."
If you'd like to remember Cahill for his strong 2013 season, here is the highlight video.
The Red Bulls now have two open Designated Player spots and plenty of cap space to find a left midfielder and build depth.
