Sky Blue FC announced yesterday a partnership with NJ Discover, with the latter coming on to produce Sky Blue's online streaming coverage for 2015. The announcement also included news that World Sport Show's Charlie Flowe will be brought on as the lead play by play announcer for 2015.
We are very pleased to partner with NJ Discover for our upcoming NWSL season, NJ Discover has a strong foundation throughout the State of New Jersey, and we look forward to broadening our partnership beyond our matches at Yurcak Field. I would also like to welcome Charlie Flowe into the broadcast booth this year. He has always been a strong supporter of our team and league through various forms of the media, and we are happy to have him become the on-air voice during our game broadcasts. -Tony Novo, Sky Blue FC President & General Manager
NJ Discover is proud to announce it has partnered with Sky Blue FC to broadcast all of its 2015 season home games. Games will be streamed live and available on the internet for fans so they can catch all the action and support the National Women's Soccer League. It is a great time for women's soccer in New Jersey, and NJ Discover is excited to be a part of Sky Blue FC's season. -Curt Ciumei, Executive Producer of NJ Discover
NJ Discover has experience producing content for television channels such as NBC, ABC, PBS, CBS, CNN, and the History Channel. However, for fans who are hoping for a local TV deal in 2015, you'll have to wait. In talking to the team, it was indicated that local TV deal is a goal, but that nothing is planned for 2015.
Regardless of local TV, the deal is a plus for Sky Blue. For the last two years in the NWSL, the team has been streaming games on YouTube, but the video quality could have been better. This partnership allows the team to have a better online presence for it's fans.
How do you feel about the announced deal? Let us know in the comments.
