RB Fantasy Roundup Week 3: BWP, Dax McCarty, Lloyd Sam, and Luis Robles

After a week off, RBNY shows up for DC in a big way

The New York Red Bulls defeated D.C. United 2-0 on Sunday night at Red Bull Arena. It was one of the most cohesive games they have completed in a long time. A few of the players had excellent performances for Fantasy MLS:

Bradley Wright-Phillips (FWD; 13 points): BWP not only had the best score out of all of his teammates, he led the entire league with 13 points. His 25th minute strike and 71st minute assist helped secure a win for RB. He had a complete game contributing bonus points on the offensive and defensive ends.

Dax McCarty (MID; 8 points): Dax also earned a spot on this week's Fantasy MLS Dream Team. His long ball forward to BWP in the 25th helped get RB on the board early in the game. He allowed Sacha Kljestan and Felipe Martins to press forward and contributed to the team's clean sheet.

Lloyd Sam (MID; 8 points): Sam continued his scoring ways and shredding of outside midfielders. His new role has seen him push a little more towards the middle which has made him more dangerous. He beat Bill Hamid with a near post rocket in the 71st to put the nail in DC's coffin. While most of his stardom the past two games has been earned on the offensive half, he was part of the clean sheet.

Luis Robles (GK; 8 points): Robles was one point off of the top goalkeeper spot this week. He had two fantastic stops right on the doorstep to keep DC off the board. Thankfully Chris Pontius' PK was off the mark late in the match, so it kept his clean sheet in tact. Dos. A. Cero.

The back four also deserve honorable mention for their clean sheet. Damien Perrinelle scored 8 points and Matt Miazga, Chris Duvall and Kemar Lawrence each tallied 7 points. Perrinelle would have also made the Dream Team were it not for a 82nd minute yellow card.

The Red Bulls are back in action at Columbus Crew SC on March 28th. Four of their players will be away on international duty.
