Bradley Wright-Phillips has landed his third MLS Player of the Week award and, for the first time, he didn't have to score a hat trick to get it.
BWP last won the affection of MLS's PotW voters (aka North American Soccer Reporters) in Week 28 of the 2014 season, when he scored three against Seattle Sounders. His first hat trick of 2014, against Houston Dynamo, back in Week 8 of last season, was the impetus for his first PotW.
This week, all it took was one goal and an assist - and a home win over D.C. United - to get some love from the soccer media. They're warming up to him!
The New York Red Bulls official site celebrated with one of its more inspired headlines of the year.
BWP likes a fist bump emoji.
