Red Bull Brazil have qualified for the 2015 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D.

The club achieved its historic promotion despite losing in the quarterfinals of the 2015 Campeonato Paulista to São Paolo FC. It was RB Brazil's first season in the Campeonato Paulista.

Two qualification spots were open in the Capeonato Paulistia for Série D, which were won by RB Brazil and Botafogo-SP. The two clubs won promotion based on being the clubs with the highest points eliminated in the quarterfinal stage of the Paulista. XV de Piracicaba lost in the quarterfinals as well, but did not secure enough points in the first stage to achieve a birth in Série D.

This is the first time RB Brazil have competed in a national competition in Brazil. The league consists of 8 groups of 5 teams, with each group playing a double round robin. The top two teams from each group will enter a knockout tournament, with each round consisting two legs home and away. Aggregate score and away goals are used to determine the advancing team.

The four teams that reach the semi-finals will be promoted to Série C. There is no relegation from Série D, but all non-promoted teams must re-qualify for the 2016 edition through their respective state tournaments.

Série D is the first step in the national soccer ladder, three levels below the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.

Earning promotion in the national leagues could lead to more synergy between RB Brazii and RBNY. The most recent big of synergy between the clubs was bringing RB Brazil youth player Anderson Cajano in for a preseason trial. Cajano had trained with RBNY last fall, but was not signed after each trial.
