After six days of rest, the New York Red Bulls will welcome the San Jose Earthquakes to Red Bull Arena this Friday night. RBNY looked a bit exposed in the midfield against D.C. United, but remained poised enough to find road points late in the game. Jesse Marsch saw this development as well and made a rare substitution for captain Dax McCarty late in the 76th minute. McCarty and his central midfield teammates will look to shake that one off and prepare for a San Jose team who are even across the board (3 wins, 3 losses, 7 GF, 7 GA).
I recommend Lloyd Sam (3 goals in 4 games). My prediction is that he will register at least one goal or assist, so that will put you in a good position to tally points with him in your starting lineup. Sacha Kljestan should also be able to threaten the SJ back line, finding striker Bradley Wright-Phillips in the process. Klejstan has been average his last few games. Now with RBNY playing games through Week 14, he should be able to get into a groove and show why he was worth the #1 allocation spot.
If you haven't already, bag Roy Miller and Ronald Zubar. They have been on the injury list for a while and RBNY has been quiet about their return. You should be able to rely on Damien Perrinelle to be a starter after his performance this past weekend. He is sitting on 3 yellow cards, so RB is going to get full use out of him before he is suspended for accumulation. I recommend picking up Perrinelle.
