RBNY MLS Fantasy Scouting Report: Colorado Rapids

RBNY is entering their double game week, but don't look past the Rapids

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

After reversing their six month scoreless streak with a 4-0 thumping versus FC Dallas, the Colorado Rapids seem to be back on track.  They are currently sitting in last in the West, but still have more points than four Eastern Conference teams.  Here are the players to watch in the New York Red Bulls' matchup on Wednesday night:

Clint Irwin (GK, 38 points; 630 MP, 4 clean sheets): Don't let the standings or their scoreless record fool you... the Colorado defense is no joke.  Irwin has recorded 19 saves and 4 clean sheets in their 7 games.  Colorado has given up the 2nd least amount of goals in the Western Conference (6).

Michael Harrington (DEF, 29 points; 630 MP, 25 recoveries): Harrington has led the Colorado defense by playing every minute of the young season, so he also has 4 clean sheets under his belt.  Harrington can be dangerous on overlapping runs and has provided a few key crosses that have contributed to scoring chances.

Dillon Powers (MID, 35 points; 515 MP, 1 goal, 3 assists): Last year's Rookie of the Year has had a really nice stretch recently.  All of his points have come in the last three games (the same timing when Colorado has found the back of the net).  He has been more and more threatening.  The other three midfielders also have fantasy scores all in the mid-20's, each contributing an assist this season.

Gabriel Torres (FWD, 28 points; 613 MP, 2 goals, 1 assist): Torres started the first four games scoring 2 fantasy points per game, but in Weeks 5 & 6 against FC Dallas and Seattle, he scored 10 and 7 points, respectively.  Torres' production has been similar to that of Powers, so he will be the main man to watch up front.
