The New York Red Bulls will send 11 MLS-contracted players to NYRB II this weekend.
Due to the bye-week, RBNY is taking advantage of its USL squad and sending quite a bit more than the four players loaned to NYRB II for the match against Rochester.
Here is the full list of players courtesy of the New York Red Bulls:
Goalkeepers (2): Santiago Castano, Kyle Reynish
Defenders (4): Andrew Jean-Baptiste, Connor Lade, Shawn McLaws, Karl Ouimette
Midfielders (4): Sean Davis, Marius Obekop, Manolo Sanchez, Leo Stolz
Forwards (1): Anatole Abang
This is almost enough players to run a 4-2-3-1 by itself. I would hope the Red Bulls keep 4-5 MLS players on the bench to allow for some USL and academy players to get playing time this week. The match should provide us with some insight to how the Red Bulls will tackle each weekly situation with its reserve team in USL.
The next NYRB II match is this Saturday at 3:30 pm against Toronto FC II at Red Bull Arena. Tickets are just $10.
