Roster change deadline: Wednesday May 13, 8:00pm ET
Amount of Free Transfers this week: 2
The New York Red Bulls hope to carry their momentum from a 2-1 victory against NYCFC to Texas for a match against FC Dallas this Friday. The Red Bulls performed very well at home, but Dallas is a tough team and will provide a strong test.
My no-brainer Bag 'Em this week is Matt Miazga. He was a good addition to anyone's fantasy team since he was a starter that only cost $5.4M. I would have advised to hold on to him if he were just suspended for one game due to his red card. However, he was also called to the U20 World Cup, so he could be gone all the way through June 20. If the US team bombs their group, he will still be gone through at least June 6. This is enough time to Bag 'Em, then buy him back when he returns to MLS action.
I would advise to buy Kemar Lawrence. Alexi Lalas said during the NYCFC broadcast that he was the MotM in his mind, if it weren't for two goals from BWP. Lawrence has started to solidify his place as the starting left back. With Sal Zizzo going down and Mike Grella not showing he is 90-minute-ready, it's a possibility of him moving up to the left wing and Roy Miller coming in to Lawrence's spot in the back line. Regardless of position, the Jamaican looks poised to stay on the field.
Another player to buy is Dax McCarty who showed signs that he is starting to enter a groove. Dax, Felipe Martins and Sacha Klejstan all played well against NYCFC and should be able to keep up the effort into Friday night's game. It will be a good game to watch since the game is being played between two teams with a combined record of 10-3-6 (W-L-T).
