RBNY MLS Fantasy Scouting Report: FC Dallas

A tough road game ahead for RBNY

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Red Bulls defeated NYCFC 2-1, but the score line doesn't show that they dominated the game, even with 10 men, for almost an hour.  Friday night's game could be a different story as they play FC Dallas, currently tied for first in the Western Conference.  RBNY will need to bring its A-game in order to get a result in the Big D.

Dan Kennedy (GK, 10 points; 270 MP, 7 saves): The former Chivas USA starting keeper is now in the lineup for FCD.  Chris Seitz should be be thanked for FCD's hot start as he played every minute of their first seven game and earned three clean sheets. Kennedy has let up one goal per game since becoming the starter after Seitz went down with a back injury, so RBNY may be able to get one past.

Zach Loyd (DEF, 44 points; 3 clean sheets, 94 CBAI): Depending on the severity of injuries, RBNY could catch a break.  Both Loyd and Matt Hedges (41 points) are listed as injured.  If they are ready to go, they could give RBNY attackers an issue due to Loyd's physicality and Hedges' size.

Fabian Castillo (MID, 62 points; 4 goals, 5 assists): Easily FCD's best player.  During Week 9's game against Houston in the Texas Derby, Castillo contributed a goal and two assists during a 4-1 win.  He has the ability to be a game-changer and will be a handful for Dax and Felipe to deal with.

Blas Perez (FWD, 41 points; 5 goals, 1 assist): The Panamanian striker has been performing very well to start the season, even after factoring in his red card against Colorado three weeks ago.  He came back from his one-game suspension and scored a goal during FCD's 2-1 victory over LA.  Perez, along with U23 USMNT player Tesho Akindele (37 points), will be a tough challenge for the RBNY defense on Friday night.
