The United States Women's National Team continues its May Send-Off Series with a May 17 match-up against Mexico in Carson, California.
In the opening game of the three-match World Cup warm-up series, on May 10, USWNT trounced Ireland in San Jose, 3-0. Abby Wambach scored twice; Julie Johnston added the third.
Sky Blue FC's Kelley O'Hara entered the game in the 61st minute for Meghan Klingenberg. All the game's goals had been scored by then, and O'Hara celebrated her 58th cap for her country with a clean sheet. Christie Rampone, SBFC's other representative in the USWNT World Cup squad, was an unused substitute on this occasion.

Against Mexico, the Sky Blue contingent can expect to see teammate Monica Ocampo. The Mexican team suffered a 0-1 loss to the Canada Women's National Team (whose squad features SBFC's Jonelle Filigno) on May 14 in Santa Monica.
The USWNT got a boost for their match against Ireland in the form of a Mother's Day visit from their...um...mothers:
Best surprise ever! Thanks @FOXSports for flying all of our moms out! Beyond grateful my cheeks hurt from smiling pic.twitter.com/yCSID10qqN

The comforts of home won't be in quite such close proximity for this game, but the team can expect a packed house to cheer on its latest step toward Canada and the World Cup:
