Match Predictions: New England Revolution vs New York Red Bulls

A tough week for the Red Bulls, a tough week for our predictions.

Stew Milne-USA TODAY Sports

Aaron Bauer: 2-1 Loss

In life many bad people get good gigs they don't deserve. One example is myself writing for this website. Another is Floyd Mayweather. No prediction or point I make here matters so may as well keep the superstition streak going. Go red bulls you will probably lose or win. Or draw. Sports.

Anthony Ali: 1-1 Draw

Even though the Revs have been on a roll lately, their schedule hasn't been the most difficult. Coming off of a really short week, the Red Bulls' depth is going to be really tested. I'm still hopeful that they'll be able to grab at least one goal to keep their scoring streak alive while also keeping the unbeaten run going.

Austin Fido: 2-0 Loss

RBNY seems to be slowing down a tad, and the Revs are the hottest team in MLS at the moment. This doesn't seem to bode well for the continued health of the Red Bulls' undefeated streak.

Frank Maduri: 3-2 Loss

The Revs are on a roll and that should continue as RBNY plays their 3rd game in 7 days and that will catch up to their starters in this match. I think BWP will be more aggressive and that Lloyd Sam will be responsible for both goals NY will score. New England has had 7 different players score a goal this season so even if NYRB shuts down Agudelo and Nguyen someone else could make them pay. The Revs are playing too well and the Red Bulls looked too out of sorts against Colorado for me to think they could earn any points in this match on the road against a top team.

Lester Townsend: 20-4 loss

Jermaine Jones will do something worthy of a red card and get away with it. The Red Bulls will continue their mild downslope and drop their first match of the year. Someone will probably get hurt and we'll have to have an uncomfortable conversation about the team's depth.

Robert Celentano: 2-1 Win

With New York just playing a game this past Wednesday, the team will have a short break before having to be on the pitch once again. This time, they take to Eastern Conference leaders New England Revolution. Yet, I have this odd feeling RBNY will be able to pull of a win. It seems that in the past, New York has been more successful while being looked at as the underdog than compared to being the predicted victor. I see the Bulls coming home with three points after this one.

Steve Toto: 1-1 draw

I haven't been correct once this season, so I'm calling for RBNY's third 1-1 draw of the week.  The score will most likely end in a 3-1 loss, but we can all dream.  I think that RB isn't as deep or in shape as they seemed to be a month ago.
