RBNY MLS Fantasy Scouting Report: Seattle Sounders

Last season's Double winners are looking for the Treble this year.

The New York Red Bulls will have a week to mull over their poor performance against the Philadelphia Union before they travel to the west coast to take on the Seattle Sounders. RBNY will have their work cut out for them. The Sounders are one of five teams to score at least 17 goals so far this season, while being only one of two teams to allow fewer than 10 goals. Here are Seattle's best performers a third of the way through the 2015 MLS campaign:

Stefan Frei (GK, 69 points; 990 MP, 6 clean sheets): Frei is MLS Fantasy's highest scoring goalkeeper. He has played in every minute of the team's 11 matches, while registering 43 saves. He tallied 10 saves in a losing effort to Columbus in Week 10.

Brad Evans (DEF, 58 points; 6 clean sheets, 104 CBAI): Evans has also played every minute of the Sounders' season. He has been consistent, which is all a team can ask of its defense.

Clint Dempsey (MID, 76 points; 7 goals, 4 assists): This gentleman needs no introduction. It's a little misleading that he's listed as a midfielder since he usually pairs up with Martins up top. Along with Frei, he is also on the Fantasy Best XI, so he can't be ignored. The Red Bulls will have their hands full with him.

Chad Barrett (FWD, 19 points; 285 MP, 2 goals): Barrett has been a sparsely-used attacker, but when Obafemi Martins (59 points) went down with a leg injury during Vancouver, he came on and scored a brace. So just because he's a sub and only has 19 points on the season, doesn't mean he should be ignored.
