RBNY MLS Fantasy Scouting Report: Real Salt Lake

RSL is an interesting animal. Let's hope RBNY catch them on an off day

Fresh off their 2-1 triumph over Sporting Kansas City, Real Salt Lake looks to keep their momentum going and add misery to the New York Red Bulls.  RSL is a tough nut to crack.  They are currently sitting in 8th place in the Western Conference (if they were in the East, they'd be in 3rd).  But looking at the MLS Fantasy numbers, they have a very good and deep team.  Here are some of the players RBNY will need to watch:

Nick Rimando (GK, 76 points; 6 clean sheets, 36 saves): The USMNT backup keeper has been great this season.  He's only missed two games due to international duty; RSL lost both.  He will be in the net against RBNY and will be difficult to beat.

Jamison Olave (DEF, 67 points; 1 goal, 1 assist, 2 RC): Olave is no stranger to RBNY; he was on the team during the entire Petke era.  Olave has had a very strange year... He leads the defense in fantasy points, but has had 2 red cards and only has played five minutes during the last three games due to a quad strain.  He will be a game time decision to start.

Javier Morales (MID, 75 points; 3 goals, 5 assists): Morales also has had hot and cold streaks.  He started the season with three straight games of over 10 fantasy points per game, then had a nine-game stretch of not scoring more than three points.  Unfortunately for the Red Bulls, Morales has scored 9, 7 and 12 points in his last three games.  Hopefully his hot streak is over.

Alvaro Saborio (FWD, 40 points; 3 goals): Over the past 3.5 seasons, Saborio's numbers have been declining.  2012-2014 saw goal tallies of 17, 13 and 8, respectively, and this year seems to be right on par with those numbers.  He is on pace for only six or seven goals this year.  Though dangerous, RBNY should be able to keep him in check
