How to Watch: Chicago Red Stars at Sky Blue FC

Sky Blue looks to kick off the second half of the NWSL season with a win against the Chicago Red Stars.

Let's hope the break for Sky Blue was productive. The team has had three weeks off, two weeks for the Women's World Cup and last week off on a scheduled bye. Sky Blue's World Cup contingent has shown well. Caitlin Foord and Samantha Kerr played especially well in Australia's upset of Brazil. The United States is the only country with Sky Blue players left: Christie Rampone who made one appearance off the bench, and Kelley O'Hara who started against China. But Australia and Canada were only knocked out this weekend, so their players will ultimately not be available for selection by their clubs.

That is unfortunate because Sky Blue will need all the help it can get. Taking on the 3rd place Red Stars, Sky Blue currently sits in last place. The team will need every single point possible to make a run at a play-off spot. The team is tied for the worst goal differential and is three points behind its closest rival. A win would close the gap on points, bringing SBFC level with Western New York and Portland and within 2 points of 4th place Houston.

So right as you finish up cheering on the boys in Red and White, boot up the computer to Youtube.com and cheer on the ladies in Sky Blue.
