Tyler Adams', USMNT U17s' trip to South Korea canceled

Guess not.

J.R. Eskilson of Top Drawer Soccer previously posted the exclusive roster for the U.S. U17 Men's National Team that would be participating in the Suwon Continental Cup in South Korea. However, according to multiple sources, Eskilson is reporting that the trip has been canceled.

The trip to South Korea has been canceled due to the outbreak of MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome), multiple sources told TDS this week. Instead, the U.S. will remain in Los Angeles until June 14 for a camp at the National Training Center. The national team will have scrimmages on three days of the camp including two games on Saturday against US Open Cup darlings PSA Elite.

There are two players affiliated with the New York Red Bulls on the roster: Tyler Adams of New York Red Bulls II and Matthew Olosunde of the Red Bulls Academy who is currently in residency in Bradenton, Florida. If he attends the entire camp, Adams will miss NYRB II's matches against FC Montreal and the Wilmington Hammerheads.

The U17 World Cup is hosted this year by Chile from October 17th through November 8th. The United States qualified by winning their playoff match at the CONCACAF U17 Championship in penalties, 5-4, over Jamaica. The team is coached by former New York Red Bulls head coach Richie Williams.
