Once A Metro Productions: Houston Dynamo has a problem

The launch of the Owen Coyle era was looking good, until...

New Conference, new coach: it is a new era for Houston Dynamo.

How's it going? Well...after kicking off MLS 2015 with a 1-0 win over Columbus Crew, the trajectory has been a bit wobbly. Fourteen games into the season, the losses (five) outnumber the wins (four). Seventeen points has the New York Red Bulls sitting comfortably in third place in the East, but the same total is only good for eighth out West.

The Dynamo has just one win (against Portland) over Western Conference opposition in eight attempts. All told, it is 1-4-3 against fellow Westies this season. It fares considerably better against Eastern Conference opposition: 3-1-2 so far this year. That suggests it may win the pending battle against RBNY, but the aim is to get to the playoffs - and that is hard to do if you can't win games inside your own Conference.

Does Houston have a problem? We'll find out soon enough. In the meantime, Once A Metro Productions offers this brief snapshot of the Dynamo's season to date.

Houston ain't so bad, as has been pointed out by OaM already. But it ain't so good either.
