Lloyd Sam nominated for MLS Goal of the Week

Vote Sam for MLS Goal of the Week #19

Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

Lloyd Sam's heads up goal against the Revolution has been nominated for MLS Goal of the week.

Sam outwitted Revs defenders to find a gasp of air and sink a beauty during the Red Bulls' 4-1 domination of New England. Sam's 5th goal of the year came only 5 minutes after he earned an assist for his beautiful short cross which found the head of Bradley Wright-Phillips for the game's first strike.

Sam has been deadly this season, linking up well with his fellow Englishmen BWP up front. This is the Speedy Winger's second nomination for Goal of the Week in 2015; the first came in week one when Sam's remarkable solo effort was outvoted by a Clint Dempsey tap in.

Clearly Red Bulls fans can rally and correct the injustice from week one, and bestow Lloyd Sam with the highest honors for goal scoring in week 19 of MLS play.

Also nominated are David Villa (NYC), Sebastian Giovinco (TOR), Marco Donadel (MTL), and Jason Johnson (CHI).
